Rick Glenn steps in for injured Gilbert Melendez, fights Arnold Allen at TUF 28 Finale

Fans may have to wait until 2019 before catching another glimpse of Gilbert Melendez in action.

The former Strikeforce lightweight champion and two-time UFC title challenger has been forced to withdraw from his Nov. 30 featherweight bout opposite Arnold Allen at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in Las Vegas due to an injury, officials announced Monday. Taking Melendez’s place on short notice will be former World Series of Fighting champion Rick Glenn.

This was to be Melendez’s first fight since UFC 215 in September of last year, where he lost a unanimous decision to Jeremy Stephens.
