Richardson Hitchins isn’t buying the renewed confidence coming from Frank Martin and he’s not subtle about it, either. Following Martin’s explosive fourth-round knockout of former champion Rances Barthelemy on Saturday night at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, the Detroit native wasted no time calling for a shot at Hitchins’ IBF junior welterweight title. Martin, who ended an 18-month layoff and rebounded from his 2024 knockout loss to Gervonta Davis, declared he not only wants the fight, but believes he has the power to stop the unbeaten champion.
Hitchins could hardly believe what he heard. “He’s lost his mind,” Hitchins told The Ring.
