Report: Muay Thai champion Valdet Gashi who joined ISIS dies in Syria

Longtime German Muay Thai fighter Valdet Gashi has reportedly died fighting for ISIS in Syria.

Approximately a month after he proudly announced his decision to join the Islamic State (ISIS), German-Albanian Muay Thai champion Valdet Gashi has reportedly died fighting for the extremist ideology.

According to Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, Gashi died over a week ago in Syria. The news was revealed once Gashi's brother posted it on his personal Facebook account.

The World Muay Thai champion, who claimed to have been in Thailand training for the last few months before his announcement, revealed his true intentions in a 90-minute phone interview with the SRF journalists.
