The Ultimate Fighting Championship has summoned a former fighter to save the Shanghai card.
Michel Pereira (31-13) was originally scheduled to face Marco Tulio at UFC Fight Night 257, also known as UFC Shanghai, on Aug. 23 at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. However, Tulio is out of the fight due to unknown reasons and will be replaced by UFC veteran Kyle Daukaus (15-4) on two weeks’ notice. The news was first reported by Portuguese outlet Ag. Fight.
While Daukaus joined the UFC as the Cage Fury Fighting Championships middleweight champ in 2020, his first stint in the promotion didn’t pan out as planned.
