Report: Ex-Bellator Title Challenger Arrested for Attacking Officers on Airplane

Bellator MMA featherweight veteran Sinead Kavanagh was arrested earlier this week for allegedly assaulting two Civil Guard officers on a plane departing from Gran Canaria, Spain, to Dublin, Ireland.

According to a report from Atlantico Hoy, the pilot halted takeoff on the taxiway due to “violent behavior” from Kavanagh. The Irish fighter reportedly attacked crew members on the plane “multiple times” prior to takeoff, per a separate report from Canarias 7. (h/t MMAjunkie.com).

That led to the captain calling the Civil Guard to the plane. Upon their arrival, a struggle ensued with Kavanagh, who reportedly had to be arrested using a taser.
