On Saturday, Colby Covington added a huge name to his résumé and cemented himself as the next challenger for the UFC welterweight title with a five-round domination of Robbie Lawler, but it turns out the fight almost didn’t happen at all.

Late Saturday night, ESPN’s Ariel Helwani revealed that “Chaos” was advised by doctors to pull out of the fight due to a head cut he sustained in training.
