The two have been booked for a featherweight matchup at a UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 8 in Las Vegas, MMA Fighting confirmed with sources following an initial report by MMA Junkie. Garcia (11-4) and Barrett (11-3) are dropping down to 145 pounds after competing at lightweight in their most recent appearances.
This is the second time Barrett’s UFC debut has been booked. The Massachusetts native earned a contract after defeating Sang Hoon Yoo on the Contender Series in August. He was to face Danny Henry at UFC Lincoln on April 25, but that event was cancelled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
