PBC on Spike TV Weigh-in Results: Khan, Algieri Both Make Weight

The anticipated welterweight skirmish between former world champions Amir Khan and Chris Algieri is officially set in stone. Both combatants climbed aboard the scale for their showdown tomorrow night at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn and they both registered weights just below the 147-pound limit.

Algieri was first to tip the scale and he did so, clocking in officially at 146.2 pounds. Next up was England’s Khan, who weighed in two ounces heavier. After the weigh-in, both Khan and his New York-based counterpart participated in a tense, fierce staredown.

Khan has been mentioned for a few years as a potential opponent for world’s pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, and he feels as though a convincing win over Algieri will hopefully land him that coveted shot.
