Patricio Pitbull likely out until 2017, but won’t need surgery on broken fibula

Patricio Pitbull’s Bellator 160 main event vs. Ben Henderson ended in unfortunate circumstances, as the former Bellator featherweight champion was unable to continue after suffering a broken right fibula. The injury occurred in the 1st round, but the end of the fight came during the 2nd after feeling the bone move.

There is good news for Pitbull, who posted the x-ray of his injury on Instagram, as he told MMA Fighting that he will not need surgery.

“According to "Pitbull", it will take six weeks until he’s cleared to put weight on his right leg, and three months until his bone is fully healed.
