Last weekend, the Apex card -- sorry, Meta Apex -- was largely a slog. It’s not that all the fights were crap, but without anything to elevate the quality, there was a sinking feeling not unlike quicksand to the bouts. However, the event did end on a high note with the final two matches, both performances that I wouldn’t hesitate to call elite coming out of the victors, Kyoji Horiguchi and Mario Bautista.
