The Professional Fighters League has kicked off a new era, as John Martin begins his tenure as the company’s chief executive officer. Martin served as chairman and CEO of Turner LLC from 2014 to 2018, when he oversaw such entities as TNT, TBS, CNN and Turner Sports. Now, he brings his extensive experience and highly successful track record to the PFL.
Martin has been a student of martial arts for many years. He started his MMA journey in his mid-20s, earning a black belt in karate and a blue belt in jiu-jitsu. Martin competed in amateur competitions until his early 40s and spent time with Time Warner Cable, where he was one of the early advocates in expanding cable coverage for mixed martial arts.
