On this date in boxing, Oscar De LA Hoya and Shane Mosley were apart of the very first boxing event in the less than one year old Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles on June 17th 2000. It was a match up between two LA based boxers. The fight lived up to the hype as both fighters put on a show but at the end it was Shane Mosley who came up on top.
