NSAC mulling additional punishment for Yenifel Vicente for repeated low blows

Yenifel Vicente’s deserved disqualification against Jessie Magdaleno may not be the end of his punishment for repeatedly punishing Magdaleno’s groin.

The Dominican boxer was deducted a whopping four points and then eventually disqualified in the 10th and final round for repeated low blows against his opponent. He was fortunate not to have been disqualified in round four after the first low shot, in which he landed a blow to the head that dropped Magdaleno just as referee Robert Byrd intervened.

Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett told ESPN that Vicente may face additional penalties for his actions from Thursday’s Top Rank Boxing main event.
