Diaz and Poirier have been linked to one another since UFC 230 in November 2018 when the two were set to fight, but the bout fell through. The two have traded barbs over social media since, but the fight has not yet been rebooked.
Poirier has expressed his desire to fight Diaz multiple times. He told Ariel Helwani in August that he and Diaz have “got to fight at some point.
