Morning Report: Brian Ortega releases statement on altercation with Jay Park: ‘What I did was truly wrong’

Over the weekend, Brian Ortega assaulted pop musician and Chan Sung Jung manager Jay Park, slapping him in the crowd at UFC 248. In the aftermath of the incident, it was revealed that Ortega took umbrage with comments Park translated for Jung, wherein he said that Ortega had “ducked” ‘The Korean Zombie’ when he was forced out of their planned fight at UFC Busan due to an ACL injury.

Since then, Ortega has gone through a few iterations of apologizing, first with a post on Instagram apologizing for slapping Park in his roles as translator and “K-pop star,” but pointedly refusing to apologize for slapping Park “the instigator” of the beef between himself and Zombie.
