The Swedish light heavyweight was booked to meet Brazilian veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in Oklahoma City on June 25, but revealed on Twitter that “Minotouro" was forced out of the card with an injury.
Nogueira confirmed the news to MMA Fighting, citing a neck injury he suffered after getting taken down in training. There’s no timetable for his return to training just yet.
With Nogueira out of action, “The Sledgehammer” suggested a light heavyweight clash with Corey Anderson instead. Latifi is looking to bounce back from a knockout loss to Ryan Bader, while Anderson lost to Jimi Manuwa in March.
