Midwest MMA Veteran William Joplin Dies of Pancreatic Cancer

William Joplin, a mixed martial arts veteran with more than 30 bouts’ experience, died Tuesday after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer, according to the GoFundMe page set up in his name. Joplin was 41 years old.

Joplin’s sister, Shelley Joplin, brought word of the fighter’s passing on the page, which was initially established in September 2018. That page will remain active to help pay for his cremation expenses and memorial service.

Known as “The Armadillo,” Joplin competed for multiple organizations over the course of a professional career that began in 2010.
