In the main event of Bellator 221 this past Saturday, Michael Chandler was looking to defend his lightweight title against featherweight champion, Patricio Freire.
Ultimately, "Pitbull" knocked him out in just 61 seconds to become the new lightweight champion. Now, after days to think about the loss, the 33-year-old released a statement on Twitter.
"This sport has never been about wins and losses for me. I realize that is a very easy thing to say after you have lost a fight. I refuse to say it doesn't sting," Chandler started.
