A marquee match-up has been set for Submission Underground 16 (SUG 16). Longtime SUG competitor Micah Brakefield will make the trek down the I-5 to take on UFC veteran Jake Ellenberger.
MMASucka.com learned of the match on Monday afternoon.
Brakefield is a veteran in the SUG cage. This will be his sixth time entering to compete in front of Chael Sonnen. “Mitey’s” most recent appearance, he was in a controversial overtime loss to Austin Vanderford.
Ellenberger competed at SUG 11 and SUG 12. He lost via Americana to Ben Egli at SUG 11 and lost via reverse triangle to Gabriel Checco at SUG 12.
