After Saturday’s remarkable beatdown of the previously unbeaten Brian Ortega in the UFC 231 main event, it would’ve understandable if Max Holloway wanted to brag a little bit.

After all, “The Blessed Era” now includes 13 consecutive victories, tying him for the second longest winning streak in UFC history. Not only is Holloway the sport’s top featherweight, but he has a legitimate claim to being the pound-for-pound No. 1, as well. But when it comes to his standing in history, the Hawaiian still defers to the man who preceded him in the division.
