In the main event at Submission Underground 20, absolute champion Mason Fowler got the job done and defended his belt against Ryan Bader.
After a few short seconds on the feet, Fowler sat to his butt, pulled Bader into his guard and that was the beginning of the end. Bader attempted to push the champion up against the cage, but this gave Fowler the opportunity to get a shoulder crunch in place. At first, it looked like the Caio Terra Academy black belt was going to utilize this position to sweep, however after extending and hipping out, he was able to get a straight armlock which forced Bader to tap.
