Khamzat Chimaev is a benevolent soul, even though he doesn’t make much noise about it.

Mark Vologdin (12-4) made a Dana White’s Contender Series appearance against Juan Adrian Luna Martinetti last week. While Vologdin dropped a unanimous decision, the bloodbath has been labeled the greatest fight in DWCS history. Both fighters were awarded Ultimate Fighting Championship contracts and $25,000 bonuses, a first for the UFC-produced spinoff.

Vologdin subsequently revealed that he received a lot of support from Chimaev (17-0) when he first arrived at the AllStars Training Center in Stockholm, the UFC middleweight champ’s former headquarters.
