It’s no secret Mackenzie Dern struggles to cut down the strawweight limit of 115 pounds.
After missing weight three times in her young career, one would assume a jump up to the flyweight division was the next step.
But on Wednesday afternoon, MMA Fighting confirmed an initial report from ESPN that Dern would not be moving to the 125-pound division in favor of remaining at strawweight.
Dern (7-0), a multiple time grappling champion, has not competed since her first-round submission win over Amanda Cooper at UFC 224 in May.
