A battle between up and coming strawweights will take place in the octagon this fall.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Lupita Godinez and Sam Hughes will take place at the UFC’s event on Oct. 9 at a location and venue yet to be officially announced. ESPN Deportes was first to report the booking.
Godinez will look to pick up her first promotional win after she came up short in her UFC debut. “Loopy” stepped in on short notice to welcome Jessica Penne back to the octagon and was on the wrong end of a split decision at April’s UFC Vegas 24 event.
