Leonard Ellerbe unsure if Mayweather-McGregor gate broke 2015 Pacquiao record

This past Saturday night’s Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Conor McGregor mega-fight is trending toward breaking some records, but the live gate totals are still up in the air. The T-Mobile Arena was home to the fight that only saw a crowd of 14,623 fans, which was more than 6,000 less than the last major boxing card the venue hosted (H/T MMA Junkie), Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. on May 7, 2017.

At the press conference that followed the fight, Mayweather boasted to the media that the gate was around $80M, however, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe wasn’t willing to commit to an estimate.
