Former two-time IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson is set to make his return to the ring on Oct. 17. Peterson will headline the Premier Boxing Champions’ next PBC on NBC against unbeaten Olympic gold medalist Felix Diaz Jr. in a 10-round welterweight encounter.
Peterson is aiming to bounce back from a majority decision loss to Danny Garcia in April. Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KOs) had won two in row before the Garcia bout, that after being knocked out in the third at the hands of Lucas Matthysse. The Washington, D.C. ,native said he’s ready to prove to the world that he is still one of the top fighters in his weight division, but he knows Diaz is going to be a tricky opponent.
