Kyoji Horiguchi switches to kickboxing to face champ Tenshin Nasukawa at Rizin 13

Two of Japan’s best and most exciting stars are going to meet in a cross-over match up. As officials have announced, Rizin bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi will be facing Rise champ and kickboxing phenom Tenshin Nasukawa on September 30.

Horiguchi, a top ranked flyweight who left the UFC in free agency, moved up in weight and won the Rizin bantamweight grand prix. The 27-year-old has won 10 straight bouts dating back to his UFC days, which includes a nine-second KO of fellow former UFC contender Ian McCall last May.

Seems like Horiguchi is out for yet another challenge as he temporarily steps out of MMA to face a violent kickboxing champion in his own game.
