If he would have competed Saturday night at UFC 209, Nurmagomedov would have made $500,000 in show money, the biggest fight purse of his career, per a document obtained by MMA Fighting via the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC). Nurmagomedov was slated to face Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title in the co-main event of the card.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report the purse information. There was no win bonus attached to the $500,000 purse.
The undefeated Nurmagomedov, of course, fell out of the fight due to weight-management issues Friday before weigh-ins.
