A welterweight fight between Kamaru Usman and Emil Weber Meek was supposed to take place at UFC 219, but it will now be staged at UFC Fight Night: St. Louis on January 14th. The UFC’s official website confirmed the news.
Meek was initially a concern to even make it to the US, as the Norwegian hadn’t obtained his visa. Once he managed that earlier this month, there was renewed optimism that the fight would go on as scheduled, despite Usman’s manager saying they had “moved on.” Well technically they have moved on.
