Junior dos Santos Faces Alistair Overeem At UFC on FOX 17

Former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem can finally stop bickering on Twitter, because they will have a chance to settle their long-running beef on December 19.

The UFC announced the heavyweight shootout Tuesday via Twitter.

This bout was initially supposed to go down three years ago, but Overeem flunked his UFC 146 pre-fight drug test for testosterone and wasn’t allowed to challenge then-champ dos Santos.

Dos Santos hasn’t been seen since taking a controversial decision over Stipe Miocic in December. “Cigano” was hoping his next outing would be against champ Fabricio Werdum, but the UFC recently announced Cain Velasquez would be granted an immediate chance to reclaim his throne.
