Jose Aldo’s striking coach Emerson “Falcao" Vieira suffered two serious injuries in his return to kickboxing at WGP 40.

Vieira, a former WGP superlightweight champion, was coming back to action after almost a year since his last bout, when he competed for the first time since fracturing his left leg in 2014 and undergoing four surgeries.

At Saturday’s event in Guarapava, "Falcao" once again dealt with injuries.

Taking on Argentina’s Ernesto de La Colina in the co-main event, Vieira fractured his arm in the second round, but kept fighting. In the following round, the 31-year-old striker fractured the left leg on the same spot he had injured before.
