Jose Aldo’s bout with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 237 still in jeopardy: ‘I still can’t say that I’m going to fight’

It’s still not clear whether Jose Aldo will be able to make it to the Octagon for his co-headlining featherweight bout against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 237.

Aldo, the former WEC and UFC featherweight champion — widely considered the greatest featherweight of all time — suffered a bacterial infection earlier this month and was admitted to a local hospital.

The MMA veteran was released on Monday but revealed at a recent media scrum that he’s still not fully healed and will require a medical reevaluation by the doctor.

“I was training wrestling last week and I went in for a double leg takedown and I kind of burned my knee on the mats,” Aldo explained, per BJPenn.
