On this day six years ago, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones ended a heated rivalry with Daniel Cormier by defending his title via unanimous decision at UFC 182.
And as media outlets, including MMA Fighting, took note, Jones made sure to remind his enemy of his dominance.
In a pair of later-deleted tweets, Jones posted a laughing emoji and the jab, “Don’t confuse a season with forever.”
Cormier considers his trilogy with current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic a great rivalry in the sport.
