After former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva dropped a highly controversial unanimous decision to Michael Bisping on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 84, many are wondering if “The Spider” should continue fighting.
Silva turns 41 in April and has posted a non-Silva-like 0-3-1 mark since humiliating Stephan Bonnar in October 2012. Oh, and let’s not forget about the mysterious blue vial from Thailand that caused him to pop positive for multiple performance-enhancing drugs 14 months ago, which forever tarnished his once-GOAT résumé.
While some might argue Silva has probably been abusing PEDs his entire career and just now finally got caught, others will say it’s simply something an aging athlete desperately attempted during his twilight years to try and prolong an illustrious career.
