The UFC has added an exciting matchup between top-10 bantamweights to their “Fight Island” slate.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Jimmie Rivera will face Cody Stamann July 15 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Per sources, the fight will take place at 145 pounds.
Rivera looks to get back on track after dropping back-to-back fights—and three out of four bouts —for the first time in his 26-fight professional career. “El Terror” was arguably a win away from fighting for the UFC bantamweight title before he was finished in the first round by Marlon Moraes in June 2018.
