Jaime Munguia Rejects IBF World Title Offer Osleys Iglesias’ Search Continues

The waiting game drags on for Osleys Iglesias. After Canelo Alvarez withdrew from consideration last week, the IBF’s next available option Jaime Munguia followed suit on Monday, declining an offer to fight for the vacant world title.

That decision leaves the International Boxing Federation still searching for a willing challenger to face Iglesias, The Ring’s No. 1-rated super middleweight contender.

Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs), 28, has been in holding pattern mode since September 4, when he powered past Vladimir Shishkin with an eighth-round stoppage in a world title eliminator. That victory positioned the Cuban puncher as the mandatory contender for the IBF belt.
