Ever since joining the UFC last year, middleweight standout Israel Adesanya has insisted that he’s not interested in the title.
While Adesanya is determined to prove he’s the best fighter in the division, ‘The Last Stylebender’ sees the belt as an accessory.
“I’ve said this on record before. Fuck the belt. I don’t give a fuck about the belt, it’s just a trinket you pick up along the way,” said Israel on a recent edition of The MMA Hour (h/t Adam Guillen Jr. of MMA Mania). “At least when it’s said and done I can say I was interim champion and I can say I was the unified champion, as well.
