Undefeated Brazilian bantamweight prospect Marilia Fanta will make her Combate Americas debut on Aug. 23, taking on Chelsea Chandler in Lake Tahoe, Nev., promotion officials told MMA Fighting.
Born in Fortaleza, Fanta holds a perfect 3-0 record with three finishes competing in Brazil and China. The American Top Team product is a muay thai champion in her native country.
Chandler, a protégé under Cesar Gracie, is 2-1 as a professional. The Stockton-native is coming off a pair of wins under the Invicta FC banner, defeating Mitzi Merry and Brittney Victoria.
Combate Americas 42 will take place at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys, in association with Tuff-N-Uff, and feature a pair of previously announced championship bouts.
