The stakes have been raised for Invicta FC’s upcoming strawweight tournament.
The all-female promotion announced Tuesday that it’s “Phoenix Rising” bracket will crown a new 115-pound champion on May 3. The strawweight belt was vacated when previous champion Virna Jandiroba signed with the UFC.
Four quarterfinal matchups were confirmed for the previously announced field: Mizuki Inoue vs. Sharon Jacobson; Janaisa Morandin vs. Brianna Van Buren; Danielle Taylor vs. Juliana Lima and Kailin Curran vs. Sunna Davidsdottir. The entire tournament will take place over the course of one night.
