Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho has been forced out of his Dec. 10 bout with Melvin Manhoef with an injury, according to MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz. Bellator confirmed the news.
The new main event for the Bellator 168 card, which takes place at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy, will be Italian fighter Alessio Sakara against veteran Joey Beltran.
Carvalho and Manhoef fought a hotly contested fight back in May at Bellator 155, with Carvalho emerging as the victor via split decision.
