Middleweight prospect Paulo Costa believes Yoel Romero should wait until he’s healthy so that they can fight.
Costa was originally scheduled to take on the ‘Soldier of God’ at the first UFC on ESPN+ card’s main event on January 19, in Brooklyn, New York. However, ‘Borrachinha’ was forced to be removed from the card due to a biceps injury and Romero expressed interest on taking on former champion Anderson Silva.
However, this is not the first time the bout has fallen through. Before being paired up for January, both men were already scheduled to meet at UFC 230 on November 3, but Romero was forced out of the card due to a broken orbital bone.
