IBF Orders Dmitry Bivol Mandatory Against Michael Eifert

The IBF has officially ordered unified light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol 24-1 (12 KOs) to defend his title against mandatory challenger Michael Eifert, marking the second attempt by the sanctioning body to secure a world title opportunity for the German contender.

Eifert, who earned his mandatory position with a standout win over Jean Pascal, was previously in line to face Artur Beterbiev. However, he agreed to a step aside deal that allowed Beterbiev to move forward with his rematch against Bivol an anticipated superfight to unify the division and settle their growing rivalry.

Now, with the trilogy bout between Bivol and Beterbiev still in talks, the IBF is once again pushing to get Eifert his title shot.
