After a thrilling win over Gennady Golovkin, Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) is taking a one-off fight at super-middleweight, as he takes on WBA “regular” champion Rocky Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs) of England. This will be Canelo’s first appearance at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and the first of eleven fights on his exclusive contract with DAZN.
Canelo is the WBC and WBA middleweight champion, and he will defend those titles in May 4th, 2019. For now, this is a stay-busy fight against a heavy underdog in Fielding, who is a top-10 super-middleweight but closer to #10 than he is to #1.
