How Bruno Santos’ mother got him into sports — and then saved his MMA career

Fighting for the fifth time in the United States as a professional mixed martial artist, Brazilian middleweight Bruno Santos will have at least one person rooting for him inside Washington’s GWU Smith Center at Thursday night’s PFL 3.

The UFC and Bellator veteran kicks off the run for a million dollars in the Professional Fighters League by facing Sadibou Sy in the season opener for the middleweight division, and will once again have his mother and No. 1 fan Rejanete Marcelino in the stands to support him.

“That’s a huge incentive,” Santos told MMA Fighting.
