Holly Holm's manager won big by betting on fight

The Las Vegas sports books were hit hard by Ronda Rousey’s shock loss to Holly Holm, and Holm’s camp was one of the beneficiaries.

“The results around town were not good,” Westgate Las Vegas Sportsbook vice president Jay Kornegay told USA Today Sports’s Josh Peter after the fight. “Most books got crushed as typical underdog betting was popular.”

The fight saw more wagers than the average NFL game, and many took advantage of the long odds on Holm in hopes of a big payoff. Kornegay said betting tickets on Holm outnumbered those on Rousey by a 5-to-1 margin.
