The UFC’s upcoming Australia pay-per-view has just taken a major hit.
MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin confirmed with multiple sources that an injury has forced Holly Holm to withdraw from her rematch with Raquel Pennington, which was scheduled to take place at UFC 243 in Melbourne on Oct. 5. The news was first reported by ESPN.
According to sources close to the former bantamweight champion, the injury she suffered wasn’t serious but it was enough to knock her out of the fight next weekend. As of now, it’s not expected that a replacement will be found for Pennington but the UFC hasn’t made an official announcement regarding the fight.
