Former UFC champion Glover Teixeira thinks the second time may be the charm for teammate Alex Pereira.
In March, Pereira (12-3) put his light heavyweight crown on the line against Magomed Ankalaev (20-1-1, 1 NC) seeking his fourth consecutive defense. To amass such a streak would be the longest title reign at 205 pounds since Jon Jones’ first run, in terms of total defenses. Instead, the Brazilian fell short to Ankalaev in that UFC 313 headliner, dropping a decision to the challenger. The two will run it back atop UFC 320 in October, and count at least one prominent combat sports figure who expects the rematch will play out differently.
