The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) has taken the first major step towards international recognition, by submitting its application to the Global Association of International Sport Federations (GAISF).
On Thursday morning, the organization announced that it had filed an application for Observer Status with the GAISF. If granted, this would allow for GAMMA to be brought into the international sports federation fold of regulation and legitimacy on the global stage. Were GAMMA allowed to be part of the GAISF, it would be one step closer to its goal of recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
