Former Strikforce champion Gilbert Melendez is set to make his long-awaited return to the Octagon against Arnold Allen at UFC 239.
UFC officials confirmed the featherweight scrap had been added to the July fight card on Wednesday afternoon.
Melendez (22-7), also a former WEC champion, is looking to snap a career worst four-fight losing streak. In his most recent performance, fans saw him drop a narrow decision to Jeremy Stephens at UFC 215 in September 2017. Prior to this, fans saw Melendez came up short to Edson Barboza and former UFC champions Anthony Pettis and Eddie Alvarez.
