A featherweight clash between Georgi Karakhanyan and Emmanuel Sanchez was added to Bellator’s upcoming event in Los Angeles on Jan. 21, the promotion announced Thursday following a report by ESPN.
Karakhanyan (26-6-1) is climbing back in the rankings after scoring back-to-back first-round stoppage victories over Bubba Jenkins and Kirill Medvedovski earlier this year. The former WSOF champion is 3-2 since returning to Bellator in 2015.
Sanchez (13-3) had a three-fight winning streak recently snapped by Daniel Weichel. Prior to the defeat, the featherweight scored wins over Henry Corrales, Justin Lawrence and Daniel Pineda.
